Hello,
I'm hoping to get some advice, I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla S 1.8L with an automatic transmission with 130,000 km.
When the engine is hot and I'm idling while in drive (does not happen in park or neutral), and I crank my steering wheel fast one way, my RPMs will drop from 620ish down into the 400-500 range. The previous owner just put a new battery in it, it looks like it has a remanufactured alternator in it. It seems electrical, but it also seems like it's idling too low, I've cleaned out the throttle body as much as I could without taking it off but the problem still persists.
Some other information I've gathered trying to diagnose this and I don't know if it's relevant or not:
- I idle in drive around 620 RPM, in park or neutral its around 750 RPM. Under electrical load it can dip into the mid 500s
- My in-drive idle long term fuel trim sits just under -4%
- My highway speed long term fuel trim is basically 0%
- My ECU voltage as read by the OBD2 port will drop down to 12 - 12.5V when I crank the wheel in drive at idle
- Spark plugs were replaced 5000 km ago
- Air filter was replaced around 8000 km ago.
- MAF Sensor was cleaned around 3000 km ago.
- Throttle body was wiped as clean as I could get it around 3000 km ago.
Any help would be appreciated, I've been pulling my hair out.
