My sister drives a 2012 Toyota Camry with a little over 100,000 miles. Today she sent me a video of her driving and putting her foot on the accelerator pedal. The engine runs but does not register ANY input from the pedal. The check engine light also blinks. She just had the torq converter replaced last month. I can't believe this is happen on a Toyota.
Why was the torque converter replaced? Is the car in limp mode?
The car had a rough shift to second gear. The transmission fluid was also drained and replaced. It ran fine until this happened.
Any car can have problems, especially over 100k miles.
If you have a blinking light, have the vehicle scanned by your local parts store and post up what codes you get.
A blinking CEL is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed sooner than later.
These Toyotas are famous for problems with the electronic accelerator pedals. Have it checked or replaced.
