The car does have age to it and around 125,000 miles on it but I've noticed it's been acting weird even more. I do doordash and drive it around quite a bit and I've had it for awhile now. So It sounds like to me it has a slight engine knock, when I'm slowing down my engine sputters out, it randomly shuts off, has a pretty good burning smell that even comes through the AC, loses power going up the hill and struggles quite a bit it's pretty loud and revs up a lot but doesn't really go anywhere, when it accelerates it like lurches toward and does the same thing when it decelerates, sometimes it takes its time when shifting gears, gets hot, sometimes has a metal on metal grinding noise.

We've checked everything including air sensors, check it's oil, and make sure it has enough coolant in it, but we can't figure out what's going on, but not for sure but it's leaning more towards a failing automatic transmission.

When were air and fuel filters last changed? Is fuel pressure OK?

If the engine is really knocking (crank or rod bearing noise) it's pretty much done for though the noise could be something else. The burning smell may be from something as simple as a leaking valve cover gasket.

From your description the transmission may be going out on you as well. You would need to take the car to a transmission expert for diagnosis to determine that.
