Ridgeline for a jeep liberty

I currently have a 2010 Honda ridgeline with 365,000 km. My dad wants to get rid of his old truck because he just got a new car and he’s going to give it to me if I want it it is a 2007 jeep liberty with 220,000 km.

Maintenance wise my Ridgeline is due for new spark plugs, as well as a new timing belt and water pump

Should I do the trade and just get rid of my Ridgeline and take his jeep? Or should I put the $2000 into the spark plugs timing belt and water pump and just keep my Ridgeline?

I think what it really comes down to is the quality between Honda versus jeep. I believe the jeep liberty was made prior to jeep being sold to Fiat.

I would stick with the Ridgine, personally. Jeeps aren't what they used to be, you would need to go back to the 80s to find a decent Jeep, it was owned by AMC, back then. A classic car that was notorious for rust, if you were in the wrong area is a recipe for potential problems. Chrysler made a hostile takeover and they only wanted the Jeep name. The Jeep Liberty also has problems.

Most of that you can easily do yourself if you're mechanically inclined. As far as I'm concerned, that's just simple wear and tear.

Another opinion if it helps, stick with your Honda, it's a better vehicle.
