Hi Scotty. I am the second owner of a 2014 Lexus IS350 with about 83K miles on it. The previous owner took good care of the car, and it has an intensive service history. However, I don't see any transmission fluid service in history. I called the dealer to ask them to change my transmission fluid, and they said, you have a sealed transmission, and we only change the fluid if you have a major issue or leak or something like that. They said you even don't have a drain plug or dipstick, so it is not recommended to change the fluid. What should I do? should I go ahead and find an independent shop to change the fluid or just ignore it?

If it ain't broke don't fix it. That being said, I believe that lifetime trans fluid is bull. There is suppose to be an inspection for toyota/lexus every 100k miles over the fluid. If the pan is leaking or the trans fluid is a deteriorated then I would say go change it though you might find it hard to check given there is no dipstick. I know bmw also does the whole lifetime fluid and people be wondering why their trans fail at 150k
