I recently bought a 2016 Toyota Sienna with around 110,000 miles. The engine whines when I step on the accelerator in drive, park and reverse. The harder I press the louder the whine.
you might remove the serpinten belt start engine see if whine is gone if its gone you know its water pump, alternator,ac,power steering or tentioner pulley if whine still present all of the above have been eliminated look else where . dont runn engine to long without belt fyi
Sounds like a pully bearing to me, it could be a pump or the alternator. alternators and pully's are prone to whine when put under load when the bearings are wearing out. lift the hood and listen to where the noise is coming from. Good to use a mechanics stethoscope (quite inexpensive to buy and a great addition to your tool kit) for this however be careful as there are many moving parts under the hood ( We call it a bonnet here in England.).
