I'm thinking of purchasing a 2016 Kia Optima EX with 67,000 miles on it and the VIN number says it was made in America the car looks pretty good after scanning the computer everything came back golden. Is it safe to buy?
@chucktobias correction is a 2017
Doesn't matter. If you value your wallet you'll stay away from Hyundai/Kia products
Is it safe to buy?
Not unless you like cars that explode or ones that drain your wallet, like @chucktobias said. https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/qa/hmg/
@fishingandcarsenthusiast123 absolutely not! Yes the car looks great yes it has great options, but the engine is one of the worst. If you can do a 24-hour test drive. Check the dipstick when you first get it. 24 hours the dipstick will already turn halfway black. Plus the roof is known to get oxidized, Plus that car is truly not a good car unless you lease it and then give it back. I almost got a car like that. I totally dodged a bullet

Scotty has been advising people to stay from Korean cars for some time now. They have some egregiously bad quality control issues. It's not unheard of for a Kia to go through nine engines or transmissions, and the customer service is likely to make you see red.
