Bought this 2021 Toyota Corolla SE Apex at the end of may. Now I got a notification on the Toyota app that something is wrong with the pre-collision system. I originally had trouble with the radio. When on Bluetooth or using Apple CarPlay intermittently I would make a phone call and could not hear the person on the other phone end. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to work unless I turned off the car and started it back up. Then today I see a notification about the pre-collision system. I used my BlueDriver scan tool to scan the computer and had a slew of codes
1 pre-Collision Code
U0235
1 combination meter code
B1507
2 navigation system codes
B15FE
B15DB
1 lane departure alert code
U0235
1 Automatic High Beam Code
U0235
1 Entry and Start Code
B2786
i would type out the description of each code but I’m using my phone to type all this out and it is a pain. But I have had nothing but issues with this Toyota. I’m very frustrated and I hate the dealer I bought it from. The radio issue fixed itself after it restarted randomly while driving. Except for when I’m using google maps or something and playing music I can’t hear the navigation voice over the music in Apple CarPlay. But I have no warning lights on just these messages in the radio system. And the one notification in the Toyota app. I used my blue driver to find all these codes. The lane keep assist hasn’t been working great lately but no error lights on. I have an appointment with another dealer next saturday but I really can't be without a car.
Any advice? I am going to the dealer soon. I have cleared the codes but what all could be causing this on a two month old car?
Clearly an electrical fault, and no you right. This is a crappy situation. Dealers be dealers, so the only thing you can really do is move it up the chain if your current dealership is being difficult about it. Don't talk to sales or service managers, they are in it for the money only most of the time from what I have heard and personal experience. I had a thing with my 2019 Camry where the seatbelt lights would stay on and flash warnings and not turn off. After a week or so, I told the dealer that I was going to just contact Toyota support directly, especially since they charged me for the "diagnostic" and "couldn't find anything" I eventually got it done for free at a different dealership and if your problem is anything like mine, I think that something in there is just 'loose'/poorly connected. Either that or just faulty systems in general, does happen.
Also would like to add that software updates can potentially screw things up. In this case you would need to find a dealer willing to revert it back to the prior version before the update.
Yes they said it was something to do with a low current when it had 528 miles on it
Did you try to disconnect the battery for 30 mins? It might work
Sounds like something got crossed up in the wiring. Hopefully they can find it and have it back to you quickly.
