Tacoma is following the Chevy Colorado in regard to the engine in 2024
Specifically, the 2024 Tacoma will only be available with a 4 Cylinder Turbo… The 6 Cylinder Non-Aspirated Engine is NOT an option for the 2024 Tacoma
Should a new Tacoma Buyer get a 2023 now to avoid the Toyota Turbo in 2024?
… and what do you think of Toyota’s Turbo vs the new 2.7 Liter Turbo in the ‘23 Colorado editions?

Yes, that’s what I would do. Presumably it being the last model year it should have most of the bugs ironed out in that generation. Of course, there is no way to tell for sure, but that’s what I would do.

I have more faith in Toyota over GM. Nevertheless, stay away from any new generation until it’s been out for many years. Let someone else be the guinea pig. I imagine there will be some issues from the Tacoma just like there’s been issues with the all-new Tundra.
Well I would definitely buy a Toyota versus a Chevy that's for sure. But I'm not really a fan of 4 cylinder turbos
The new Colorado looks to be a step up from the old. And it’s made in the US. But there are too many question marks to recommend it just yet. The new Tacoma, if I understand, will be made in Mexico, and there are already signs that quality is declining a bit at that factory - and certainly the new model will have some hiccups.
So, yeah, if you are in the market for a midsize truck, the current gen Tacoma is the one to get. But inventory is low, so you probably can’t be too choosy about color and options and stuff.
PS: you didn’t mention other brands. The best midsize “truck” right now is probably the Ridgeline, though that’s a bit different kind of vehicle.
Non-Aspirated
Impossible. An engine NEEDS to air to work. You mean naturally aspirated?
Yes… NATURALLY ASPIRATED…. Car Dad can’t type!!
Wonder if the Toyota Turbo will last 300K?
