Hi Scotty, I have a 2014 Ford Explorer base models, V6 with 170,000 Kms. It has standard headlight (9005), recently the right side headlight connector melted and I replaced it with a new one. The headlight was working fine.
Yesterday, I noticed the right headlight not working again (both low/high beam), I tested the bulb, it's fine. I also tested the connector with multimeter, it shows power around 12.16V. I have checked the fuses (#16, #17) under the dash, both are are fine.
As the connector has power, not sure why the headlight is not working. The driver side (left side) headlight is working fine.
Any help from you is very much appreciated.
Check relays and grounds. If the connection is poor you might see voltage on a high-impedance voltmeter that uses almost no current but it can still fail under the much heavier electrical load of the headlight.

you need to test it under load (ie lights connected and turned on). Measuring an open circuit tells you very little.
