ABS lights on Honda Crosstour

  • I bought a used 2012 Honda Crosstour EX-L 3.5L V6 with AWD from a dealer a couple of days ago. The car has a little over 136,000 miles on it but is in great shape and drives like new. During the test drive everything went great and no warning lights came up. I bought the car as-is from the dealer with no extra warranties. About 45 minutes after driving off the lot with it, my ABS, VSA and brake lights came on. After getting home and running a scan I got a 123-11 code indicating VSA solenoid failure (right front - left rear suction valve). Assuming the dealer won’t do anything about this, how serious do you think this problem is, and is the vehicle safe to drive? I live in Louisville, KY so we see a good amount of snow and ice in the winter.
  • after looking into the possible fixes, it’s possible the VSA control module could need to be replaced. Would you recommend considering a used module if this is the case, or should I look for a new one?

Generally you wouldn't need a new module. And then the system has to be reprogrammed. So you going to have to use a mechanic and most mechanics aren't going to use to use module but see what happens in your area because realize as I said you can't do it yourself because it has to be reprogrammed
