That’s probably one of my favorite Honda/Acura vehicles. It has the Honda K engine. An amazing engine. I don’t have direct experience with the CSX, but based on what I know of Honda’s and cars in general.
1) The OBDII port is usually underneath the steering column, either to the far right or far left of the column. You need to peek your head under to find it. Some cars have a cover on the port, TMK, the Acura does not.
2) Do you mean upstream and downstream Oxygen sensors? If this is what you mean. Not sure about the CSX, but in many Honda’s, their is an O2 sensor right in front of the engine on the heat shield. The other one is usually after the catalytic converter.
3) Denso or NGK is fine. I prefer Denso myself.
Thank you so much this is helpful. It's just that not a lot of part stores carry the Denso brand and some of the Denso o2 sensors are way overpriced but I heard it's the same original part manufacturer of when the vehicles first came out for the Honda/Acura's so I thought Denso would be the way to go. I'm just trying to avoid having the engine light reappear if I end up going with the NGK brand as I heard the sensors are likely to come back with the Engine light if it's not installed with a good brand is that correct?
Yes, that's correct for the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors. My mechanic didn't let me know the code that appeared on his OB2 reader so I just want to make sure it's not both sensors I am replacing and if it's the one sensor I am replacing. All he confirmed it was the front sensor I am replacing and didn't specify which one so I am just curious which one needs replacing and it's so hard to find any information for my car and don't want to be. ripped off.
What does TMK stand for? Thanks, I will try to peek my head again I tried doing that yesterday and I couldn't find it. I think I will have to mirror my phone and take a picture to see where it is hidden.
Denso is an OEM for Honda. That’s why i prefer using them, even if it is a little more expensive.
TMK, means To My Knowledge.
If you are having a hard time finding information in your car, try looking up the 2008 Honda Civic. They are very very similar cars in terms of engine and platform.
In fact, that generation Honda Civic is based on the the Acura CSX. (Usually it is the other way around). Honda Japan saw what Honda Canada created for the Canadian Acura marker, and loved it so much, it made it the Civic for America.
