A local dealer has a 2013 Lexus GS350 with 53K miles for sale. Asking price is $21,900, which seems low given the mileage and the additional equipment (Premium package, etc.)
I took a look at the Carfax, and it left me with enough questions I decided to pass on the vehicle. Would like to run my concerns past the group, though, to see if I am on point or if I was maybe reading too much into things.
-The car has had 5 owners in 10 years. Two of those owners owned the car for less than a year (4 months and 8 months, the latter being the most recent owner) before selling it.
-The car has had significant periods of "lot time", with it sitting on a lot 6 months one time before selling, and nearly 5 months for the current dealer. Also, the car twice went straight to an auto auction.
Collectively, it looks to me like this is a car that has had some sort of ongoing issue(s) and the current dealership wants to offload it as fast as they can.
Thoughts?
Let me tell you something. Five owners and 10 years run away from that car. There's too many possibilities of flooding or whatever. That's a red flag right there
