Scotty, I have been looking and decided on a mustang instead of a toyota because they are way cheaper and more fun for teenagers. I saw a red 2005 mustang v6 with 46k miles 5 speed for only $9000. Are these mustangs reliable and hard to maintain? Do you think they would make a good car for a teenager with only having 210 horsepower.
Yes, the S197 Mustangs are good vehicles and can last a very long time if maintained. Ford was still using good manual transmissions back then, so you don't have to worry about all the issues they had in the later years.
They aren't rockets, but they are excellent cruisers.
are their automatics and v6 engines good too?
Yes they are. I almost added that in my original post.
Doesn't matter. Next week you'll change your mind again.

Oh c'mon now your dream car is a RAV4 which you can get a newer model year for the same price and you are considering a Mustang for a first car? Do some more research on the market is what I am going to say.
I guess those cars are reliable for what they are but a Mustang really? If you like it and your dad is fine with a 16 year old driving a 15 year old sports car then sure I personally wouldn't like it.
I have to agree with @Mod_Man. At least, you didn't choose the V8 or otherwise you will crash into something.
