I bought a 2017 Chevy Spark 6 months ago with A/C that only blasted on full. Figured I needed a new blower motor resistor and installed one. It worked but it burnt out after driving it for less than 10 miles. Did I just buy a bad resistor or do I need a new blower motor too? It was a Duralast brand resistor and I don't know anything about aftermarket part quality. Also, would you recommend buying a "new" blower motor from a junk yard?
Failing blower motors cause too much current in the resistors, and makes them burn up.
You should buy a brand spanking new blower for your nice newish car.
Yes
Cripes - my car was over 20 years old before it needed a new blower motor. What they heck are they making those things out of? If they're failing after just a few years on that model a junkyard part may be just as bad as the one you are replacing.
Keep in mind it's a Korean made car that sold for $8k brand new.
