Temperature stays cool after using K-Seal

Hey Scotty, I have a 2010 Chrysler town and country with 211,000 miles on it. It has a blown head gasket. I put K seal in it and replaced the thermostat and now the temperature gauge stays on cool even after a 15 minute warm-up. When the vehicle is titled the gauge begins to go up. Any suggestions?

You probably need to bleed air out of your cooling system.

Don't count on "K Seal" working for any great length of time. Those kind of snake oil products are temporary bandaids at best, frequently don't work at all, and can clog cooling systems.

@chucktobias Thanks for the reply.

There's probably pockets of air in the cooling system. You said tilting the vehicle helped bring the temp gauge up. Are you tilting the front of the vehicle up to help bleed air out of the cooling system?

What liter engine is it? Maybe there's bleeder screws on the engine.

@oskool no I am not tilting the vehicle up at all. It is on a flat surface and when it is running idle it the gauge goes up and when I drive it/accelerating it creeps down.

did you flush out the kseal when you were done and replaced it with clean coolant? I don't think you're supposed to leave it in there. if you did then you probably just clogged your new thermostat (and possibly radiator and other things).

@imperator I DON'T THINK I MY MECHANIC FLUSHED IT ALL OUT. IF NOT SHOULD I RE-ATTEMPT FLUSHING THE COOLANT SYSTEM?

of course, though it sounds like it may be too late. I would inspect that thermostat.
(turn your caps lock off please)
