Buying car from private owner in Germany

Hello Scotty,

my name is Andrew and I currently am selling my Ford Focus for a different vehicle. The car I’m getting will be a classic by the time I leave Germany, it’s a 1996 SEAT Córdoba with about 60,000 kilometers on it. Overall all lights, AC, Heating work. Timing belt was replaced as well as the clutch in 2011 - 2012 timeframe. Do you think this is worth it to buy?

If odometer reading is real, it means the car was sitting for most of its time. Check out Scotty's video about what to look.

The car does run, has new breaks and solenoid put in as well. Looking at the engine most of it doesn’t have rubber material but metal for the majority.

I don't see any problems if everything is in great shape. Don't beat the engine hard for some time if you want to keep it as long as possible. Perhaps @dan has something to add.

Well I don't know anything about the seats they never sold them here but some European guys love them

I was just curious, the car looks in pretty good condition for being a little younger than me

It depends on what engine it has. If it has the 1.9L diesel, it can be a very good car since that diesel is well known for being bullet proof.

Of course, it'll still need some work regardless to get it running but it could be a decent little thing.
