Car heater working on my 2007 Toyota RAV4?

Hi Scotty and his amazing mechanic gurus, I have a 2007 Toyota Rav4 with 240,000 KM. I live in Alberta, Canada and it is -30 degrees celsius right now. what temperature should i read on the thermometer when i put it in the vents? it seems like not too much heat comes from it and wanted to see if it is normal as it is super cold out or does it have to be within a certain threshold, same as AC and getting a certain temperature when you have your AC on.

Thanks,

It should be at least 135 degrees fahrenheit (57 degrees celsius) from the vents. Check your blower and make sure it's working properly. If not, then your problem may be within the dashboard of your car.

thank you I will check tonight.

You didn't say what air temperature your heater is putting out.

There are a lot of things that can affect heater operation. Is the engine reaching full operating temperature? Is your heater core clogged? Is there a heater core shutoff valve that may be malfunctioning? Is your blend door working properly?

Thanks Chuck. sorry I didn't put the question right. I meant to ask what temperature i should be reading. i havent put the thermometer yet. Kesterpaul62 replied saying 135 degree Fahrenheit or 57 celsius. i will go and measure it once my car is to operating temp and will ask a follow up if it is not that temp. thank you
