Should I buy a 2004 Honda Accord?

I was thinking in trading my 2005 Camry LE v6 with 190,000 miles. They offer me 3000 dlls.

And the Honda is a 2004 coupe EX v4 2.4l with some custom mods under the hood. 100,000 miles on it and they want 8000 dlls for it. I drove it a bit and feels pretty smooth transmission doesn’t slip. But not sure if these cars have a lot of issues I should know before buying it.
what you guys think?

That is a bad deal and a step backward in reliability.  Stick with the Toyota Camry you got.

Also, never buy a vehicle that has been modded (esp. the powertrain).

Do not do that. Couple of points:

1- Trade in is a mistake.

2- That Honda model year has lots of transmission issues.

3- You already have a good car that can last two times of the current mileage easily if well taken care of. I can not say that for that Honda.

4- Price of that Honda is way too much, no surprise from a dealership though.

I'm sure there are more things that members can add up.

I would pass on this car because of the transmission issues on it. They are also asking a little too much money for it.

Aside from the other issues mentioned, "custom mods under the hood" is a ginormous red flag. Pass it by.

Keep the Camry. I love Accords. But Camry’s are amazing vehicles. It’s not a good deal to trade it in.

What cars do you guys recommend that could be better than my Camry? Let’s say between 2005 and 2008

It depends on what you're looking for. Really if you want the best reliability overall you'll be hard pressed to do better than what you already have unless it has developed some kind of serious problem.

Now if you're looking for a different type of vehicle than a sedan (van, convertible, station wagon, SUV, pickup truck) that's a horse of a different color.

What car can do better than your current Camry? Assuming the same class of vehicle, another Camry.

But seriously, you probably have one of the best Camry’s ever built.  I’d even say better than the newer ones.  Sometimes newer is not better.
