I bought a new 2015 Chevy Spark LS. It has an AM/FM adio. The FM radio works fine and gets many chanels. The AM radio gets no channels. It was repaired at a dealership and the AM radio started to work. A few weeks after the warranty ran out, the AM radio went out. I wonder if it is the external antenna or are there multiple wires from the radio to the external antenna. Maybe I will try running the FM radio with the antenna dismounted. On a cool day the fan blows 90 degree air with temp knob on full blue in the shade. The AC compressor cycles every 30 seconds and on a hot day produces 65 degree air.
@mfgmarques
please, only one problem per question. Thanks.
Well generally that's a sign that the antenna is not plugged in or it isn't grounded right on the vehicle an easy check would be to just to pull the radio plug a known good antenna into it and stick it outside the car and see if it works
AC problem may be due to low refrigerant. If you are not familiar with working on AC systems have a good mechanic check it out for you.
@chucktobias
The AC was repaired at a dealership while under warranty. They say it is normal to cycle every 30 seconds. I asked them if 30 seconds is considered rapid cycling. They say 65 degee vent temp on a hot day is normal. On a cool day in the shade the fan alone produces 90 degree air in the shade. They did not look at this heat but they say there is a hot plastic box near the passenger feet. That hot box I presume causes the 90 degree fan air.
It doesn't sound normal to me. If you're getting 90 degree air on a cool day that indicates that the blend door is not working properly, mixing in hot air from the heater core when it shouldn't be. (Either that or if that system has a heater core cutoff that's not working.( That would also 'splain why you're not getting cold enough air on a hot day with the AC turned on. Since I'm not familiar with that particular vehicle I don't know if cycling every 30 seconds is normal but it sounds a bit rapid to me, you'd have to check the specs on that.
