Hello. I have another question about my 06 Corolla. I'm going to vacuum out and refill the a/c system. What kind of refigerant should I use? I'm assuming I should use one with oil since I will be using a vacuum. There are, it seems, three choices: straight refig.; refig. and oil mix; and a refig., oil, and seal rejuvenator mix. Which should I use? Thanks so much for the advice. It's so hard to find a good mechanic around here. They're expensive and the last one I tried praised the 3.6L Subaru! So, I'm doing as much as I can myself. PS: I'll rewatch Scotty's videos on how to do it.

R134A. Charge in the correct amount by weight as specified by the manufacturer. You should use a scale since the amount in those small cans can vary.

That is an incorrect assumption. You do not lose a significant amount of oil pulling vacuum.

Use straight R134A. If components have been replaced or the system flushed you would add the needed amount and type of oil separately just before installing the refrigerant.
Do not buy any refrigerant containing "sealer" or "rejuvenator" unless you want to risk damaging your AC system. Do not use a "recharge can" - just plain R134A and a manifold gauge set.

There are others as well, familiarize yourself with the procedure thoroughly before proceeding. While not rocket science it's very easy to do damage or even injure yourself doing the wrong thing. Be sure to wear eye protection when working with refrigerant.
