Hey Scotty absolutely love your show. Despite your warnings about Nissan my wife recently purchased a 2021 Nissan Rogue platinum edition. It came with lifetime warranty, but has been nothing but Trouble.
2 days after purchase - service due now message pops up. Took it to dealership 3 times for oil to be reset. Still pops up. Nissan advised software issue.
1 week after purchase - sync light stopped working. Software update fixed it.
1300 miles - check engine light came on and car sent SOS messages to pd. Nissan kept veh for a week. Eventually light went off and they advised they deleted the code and it never popped back up. Nissan replaced the battery.
2000 miles - vehicle display "engine... reduce power message" and immediately cut off. Veh then proceeded to rev but would not go. Each trip is a 50+ mile drive.
The dealership encourages us to take it to a closer dealership but I don’t want any confusion or one dealership blaming the other.
we are located in Georgia. Purchased from butler Nissan in Macon ga
Return the car if you can.
Been In contact with Nissan corporate. They have been no help, tho we have lemon laws here in Georgia.
Keep pushing them. It is your right.
Thank you for feedback
Then contact a lawyer. Don’t be forced to live with a lemon..
You bought a new asset, not a new liability..
Thank you for feedback. It so frustrating this is a brand new 40k car.
Start looking into the Lemon Law requirements in your state. Be prepared to hire a lawyer to help you in this matter. Manufacturers will fight it every step of the way.
Thanks. Just left dealership car did not make it home. Have to call a tow truck for a new car less than 5k miles
I've been there my friend. My new '18 F150, back when I bought it, went through 3 motors and 1 trans within the first 6 months/6k miles. I had to sue Ford and spent a full year litigating before they FINALLY settled. Pain in the neck. I'm sorry you're dealing with this issue.
If me don’t mind me asking, what were your out of pocket costs? What were your reparations from Ford?
Out of pocket was $0. Lemon Law lawyers who are really good (mine I knew personally and he has more than 30 years experience, 15 of which he was a lawyer FOR the manufacturers so he knows both sides. It was like watching a chess master play and predict moves. Lol.) will take your case pro bono, meaning they only get paid if you win. This means they really only take cases they know they can win. I can tell you he charges $485/hour, and his paralegals (it took two in my case) were paid $215/hour each. I can't discuss any financial terms of the case though as part of the settlement was nondisclosure of details.
Also try calling Clark Howard. His team helped my daughter out once when she had a problem with Nissan.
Thank you
Probably a good idea to know you state's lemon laws before buying a new vehicle. Sort of like knowing you state's laws before buying a gun.
It definitely sounds like the car has troubles but you can take it to any other dealer and since it was all done under warranty they can see what the other sealer did and you may get someone more competent to look at it somewhere else. That vehicle is a pretty much all new system for Nissan and there have been updates to come out and a recall for different updates to be performed to the the software
Well
My opinion'
That's what you get for buying a jap car.
