My car's passenger lock button at one point only worked if you repeatedly and rapidly pressed and released the lock button for a few seconds. Before I could take a look, the car battery died. After it was replaced for a month this issue disappeared, and so I thought it was a case of the old battery. But the issue has returned. Do you have an idea at the most likely spot to look first to avoid taking apart anything I don't need to?

UPDATE: Took the panel off, sprayed the WD-40, wiped everything down, and made sure everything there was as clean as I could get it. Been a week and it works fine now. Most annoying part was that I broke a few of those plastic pins that hold the panel on but I had waited till I got spares because I knew I would.
If it has power locks odds are the actuator in that door starting to go out and binds so you could take the door panel apart and spray all the points with WD-40 and lubricating it might help

Test the battery. Maybe it's dying again.
Thanks all. Will have to check and see. The passenger door locks fine with the driver's side lock control, so this all sounds about right. I was mostly confused why the new battery would have caused it to clear up briefly. Will let you know what I find.
