Hi,
this is an interesting one.
Recently summer started and my good old trusty Ford Focus’ A/C (single compressor) blows way colder on one side then the other - they didn’t use to be the case at all.
Usually with a failure like this, you’d expect the airflow temperature sensor, or blend flap actuators to be broken,
but upon testing with my high-level scan tool I verified they’re working correctly…

note: “Discharge air temperature. right panel” being significantly higher then “Left discharge panel temperature” whole both flaps are fully open and the climate control is set to “LO” on both zones…
Does any have any guesses as to what’s making it misbehave? or Should I try adding more refrigerant?
Ive heard from Scotty that if the drivers side is less cold than the middle vents, that means the car needs some refrigerant. So i believe your car is due for some Refrigerant.
It's a common symptom of low refrigerant.
Do NOT use one of those crap "refill kits" with the useless red/green low-side gauge and loaded with destructive sealer. Although the only way to know you have the correct amount of refrigerant in the system is to evacuate and recharge, you can frequently get away with adding a small amount of pure R134a a little at a time while watching pressures with a proper manifold gauge set.
You may want to check for leaks as well, though if it's a slow leak (like topping up once a year or less) you can live with it.
