Hey Scotty, I have a 2014 ford taurus SHO with about 102,000 miles on the stock transmission i believe its the 6f55 transmission, what would you suggest for upgrading or replacing the stock transmission, im at about 400 horse right now with some tuning and upgrades but im looking to go up into the 600 horse range once i get the upgraded turbos and intercooler i will also do some engine upgrades later on i plan to rebuild the engine with performance parts.
Unless some outfit makes a special racing transmission designed specifically for your model it's usually not feasible to install alternative transmissions in front-drive or AWD cars.
Great sleeper car, especially with a turbo.
Doesn't look like there are a lot of off-the-shelf performance transmission parts out there, probably because it is a relatively low-volume unit (in contrast to Mustangs). (It's also a transverse engine layout, too, isn't it? If it's longitudinally mounted, you might be able to fit parts from either a mustang or truck driveline.)
So I get the feeling that your options for upgrading the transmission and diffs are going to be very limited and likely to require assistance from a very sophisticated Ford performance shop.
If it were me, I would probably just upgrade the undercarriage (brakes, coil overs, stabilizer bars) and tires, and keep a slush fund for a reman transmission if the need arises.
The Ford Flex was built on the same platform, surprisingly, and it was either FWD or AWD. I hated the Flex, it was literally a box, lol.

The transmission was designed for a 365 horsepower engine, not a 600 horsepower engine. You're practically doubling the power and torque. Automatic transmissions have a myriad list of moving parts. Too much torque and horsepower can easily lead the transmission to its demise. Even if the stock transmission could take the torque, your transmission will wear out a lot faster than it otherwise would.
So even if i upgraded the “ myriad list of moving parts” with performance parts it wouldnt be able to handle it ?
The first thing is you'd likely need a beefed up torque converter, first of all. Toughened belts are likely needed... If you can find performance parts, paying a mechanic to install said parts will be quite expensive. In the thousands.
