i have a 2016 mazda 3 2.0 automatic with 93K kilometers, mainly driven in the city by my mom, 3km drive to work.

the car runs good and all, but i was thinking, as preventative maintenance, to use an engine intake cleaner to clean whatever has built up in its 7 years of driving and Carbon Buildup

the additive is quite cheap so i don't mind spending a couple of bucks on it, as far as i know, the skyactive engines don't have a serious problem with carbon buildup, but every GDI engine build some amount of carbon, if it helps the engine's health, performance and fuel consumption, what the heck!

what should i check before doing this? i watched scottys video about it and it seems pretty easy, this specific additive he added from the fuel port, ive seen all sorts of ways of different products that clean engines, from the vaccum hose, and pouring directly in the oil filler hole (seafoam, which i understand isn't properly fit for modern engines, as scotty said).

Really those engines don't have any problems and you can mess it up big time if you spray too much cleaner into the engine the wrong way. If I were you, I just leave it alone and buy quality gasoline and change your oil regularly
