[Solved] Have a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder XE, 201,000 miles, automatic transmission, privately owned by mechanic previously

The Pathfinder will not start and has been sitting for 6 months. It was working fine back in April, then all of a sudden, one day it quit on me after being parked. Had to get it towed home. A mechanic said that it could be the timing belt, starter issues, ignition issue or a burnt fuse. When I charge the battery, (Which was just put in in March.) It will try to start, but it sounds faster than normal in the ignition. It really sounds like it is almost ready to start, but I don't know what prevents it from doing so. It has new gas and a new battery.

Do you believe that it is worth trying to get fixed? I paid $2,400 for it back in December 0f 2018.

Sad but you really overpaid for that thing. If the engine cranks faster than normal that's often the sign of a broken timing belt. Check that 1st but don't put much money on it realise those things are a dime-a-dozen
