I have owned a 2002 Chevy Avalanche 4x4 for 16 years . Its a great truck.
Recently my heater core started leaking coolant on the floor in the passenger front floor.
i purchased a new core and was going to install it myself until I found out to get to it you need to remove the dash and its approx. a 10 hour job!.
Is there any other way of introducing sealant into the existing leaking core or replacing the core without dismantling the dash to get to it on this model?
Right now I bypassed the heater and am not running heat into the cabin. Winter is now upon us and I don't feel like going without heat or a defroster. Help!
Unfortunately many vehicles are made that way. It's as though they build everything out from the heater core and evaporator.
Any sealer would only be a temporary bandaid if it works at all.
