HHR vapor canister boot lube

2009 Chevrolet HHR 210,000 miles with manual transmission. I did not look for an OBDII code.  I am replacing the canister vent valve solenoid. It plugs into the charcoal vapor canister near the back of the car. There is a rubber boot in the canister and a tube on the solenoid unit with 3 ribs to fit into the boot. The boot is removable. I have a few lubes available to me such as soapy water, auto spray lithium, window washer. I do not have dielectric grease. I am planning to spray the entire unit down with soapy water before disassembly. Here is my question. Before reassembly, should I lube the rubber boot with auto spray lithium, soapy water, window washer or go to the store and buy dielectric grease.

I use plain old Vaseline for that type of stuff.

is lube even required?

if so, then sure dielectric grease is cheap and very handy. So is brake lube.
