How to identify car automatic transmission type ?

Hello,

I live in middle east and I bought car from my friend and I found it very hard to identify car automatic transmission type . Is there a sign or something to identify it ?

Call up your dealer with your VIN and they should be able to tell you exactly what you’re looking for.

Open up the hood and look to the right of the engine, you’ll find big letters imprinted into the transmission case.

If it’s A6GF1 congrats 

if it’s D6GF1 / D7GF1 / C0GF1 - my condolences.

in case it’s happens to be something else please post it - it’s gong to be interesting


It’s a salvaged 2.0L Nu CVT..

Wikipedia can be very useful. Also, there is often a model number stamped right on the unit. 


where ? could send me photo of stamped one

You can also decode the VIN online.


I tried that but some cars the decoder doesn't detail
