Ignition / theft

I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring Coupe. Has less than 130 thousand miles on it. Owned it for about a year, havent had any trouble really out of it besides break pads and rotors. To make a long story short, I let an idiot borrow my car. When he brings it back he looses the key. He takes the ignition apart. After finding the original key (gray with chip), he puts the ignition back together. Now, my car cranks and cranks, but will not start. Doesnt sound like my fuel pump is kicking in. The security light isnt on in my dash. No wires I can see was cut. I tried hooking the code reader to it, but it reads no codes because the idiot cleared all codes. Im stuck with now what to do... Do I have to have the key reprogrammed? Should I take the ignition back apart and make it he did everything right? Ive checked fuses... nothing seems to be blown. Please help.

I would disassemble the ignition switch system and find out what this person did wrong and fix it.

The best advice I can give is to make the guy pay for a shop to fix it before things get worse. You were nice enough to lend your car to him, he should have had it back in working order before returning it.

Now he screws up your car adding insult to injury.

Just learn from your mistake & don't lend out your car, also keep atleast one spare key.
