Hey scotty! Big fan of the channel. Can you define a “Endless money pit”? Lol
Thanks! Joey Berweiler
it's a car that you have to keep dumping money into to keep it running.
As @mountainmanjoe said, it is a vehicle that continues to need work done to stay running regardless of how much money you throw at it.
IMHO, endless money pit can take on two forms:
1) The car is of low quality, continually breaks and needs fixing, thus costing tons of money.
2) The car is of decent or high quality, but parts and labor for basic maintenance is extremely expensive, compared to other decent or high quality cars.
3) it's just too old and is falling apart
A car that has multiple design flaws and is made under very low quality control of which you, the consumer, needs to keep putting large amounts of money into the vehicle and which the vehicle just keeps breaking over and over again and isn't trustworthy to bring you to even simple destinations.
It’s a vehicle that is in constant need of repair (which will quickly add up in cumulative cost to you). You repair one thing only to find later another item needs to be fixed, and then another item after that, and it just keeps going. It would be typical to see such a car constantly in the shop (if you don’t do any of your own work) and possibly might see the average monthly repair bill higher than the cost of just getting a new vehicle. Also, the cumulative cost of all the repairs (if one were to proceed with them all) may eventually exceed the value of the vehicle.
