I always bought Honda but don’t like the turbo 1.5 engine matched to a cvt. So I went with Kia How many miles do you think I would get in mostly city driving with 3k mile oil changes. ???
Kias have a history of falling apart after about 100K miles or so. That's if they don't do this sooner:

Good luck with those "warranties." When you take it to them with oil squirting all over your windshield, they'll tell you "That's normal."
So I went with Kia
Poor choice, unfortunately. They blow up with as little as 50k.

Also keep an eye on oil consumption. Kia considers consumption up to a quart every 1000 miles to be "normal". To be fair that is the case with many manufacturers and others have certainly had some models with oil burning problems, but oil burning and sudden catastrophic engine failure has been more prevalent with Hyundai/Kia products than most other brands.
The odds are stacked against you, unfortunately. I would not keep that vehicle outside of warranty.
If you are being offered $25k for it and own the car and it's financially feasible for you if you don't want to get a Honda because of turbo engine then go for a Toyota. Given all the issues with Kia/Hyundai I wouldn't risk keeping it any longer and would get something reliable while I can get the most money for the Kia.
So I went with Kia

Oh dear..
The warranty is 100k and Carmax offers 25k so let’s see how far she goes. Runs like a top after 3 years, no repairs so far. Seems like electric cars are taking over anyway.
If you got a good one and take care of it you could certainly get some life out of it, but statistically they do tend to have more problems than most other makes. Despite the desires of certain parties it will be a long time before electric vehicles are in the majority. They have many limitations and the infrastructure to support them is just not there.
My Friend has a Kia sportage 2012 model. 193k miles on that and still going strong.
He has not replaced anything except for a few things like bulbs and shocks.
He drives average of 65 miles daily.
They are never like Honda or Toyota in product quality but definitely something if you want it in budget.
However my friend who works as service advisor in Kia advises models from 2017 have continuous issues especially with the engine.
They improved the interiors but are having a hard time perfecting the engine.! If you have unlimited warranty scheme, they will replace the complete engine if there are any issues, provided you do all services in there!
Although its a new car, take it to a mechanic and have it thoroughly checked as they never advise anything at the dealership.
If your tires are kumho and under warranty, get them replaced. Those factory tires wobble overtime!.
Check that steering alignment is correct.
Let a mechanic check all electrical as they are the weakest in Hyundai/ Kia's.

Highway mileage is the equivalent of ~10% city miles.
Much true! But in Kuwait, the traffic is more on the highways! {black}
Believe me, it has gone through 54 degree heat too !
One if the biggest factors is how well you maintain it and drive it. Its seems with Hyundais and Kias its a crap shoot on how well they manufacture them. Hopefully is not a Monday or Friday build.
Hi.
I see you are in Kuwait. Are the Kia you drive the same as the Euro ones or the American ones? Seems to me that the ones made for Euro market are different, and seem much more reliable than American built ones.
