Hi Scotty,

Big fan.  I have a 2009 Ford F150.  It has a clunking sound coming from the rear end when I go to move it the first time in the morning.  It goes away after I reach around twenty miles per hour.  It is especially noticeable when I am pulling out of my parking spot and turn the wheel as I am pulling out.  I have gone on to the ford forums and nobody seems to know including the dealerships.

Some recommend greasing the axle splines.  Ha.   Some recommend greasing the springs.  HAHA.  It is a very common issue I guess by all the people asking about it.  What is it?  How to fix it?  There were a few dealers that changed the rear ends and it still persisted.  (According to the forums)  A good friend says he has had it for the last several f150s he has had.  Wish to hear a solution from you as I trust your word.  Keep up the great work that you do and thank you.

Yes the splines can often do that especially if it only does it one time you can remove the drive shaft they have a special grease you can Grease the spline and put it back in I've seen that happen many times the only other thing would be either worn rear end or worn drive shaft u-joints
