Leaky fuel injector or not

Scotty,

1997 Lexus ES300 here, 2nd owner since 161k (2016) now at 239k and fantastic condition I might add. Live in Houston TX as well. I recently had a timing belt service done along with cam/crank seals and right after developed a misfire. I normally do my own maintenance but I left the timing belt to the pros. Misfire was super light but I felt it. It got worse and threw a code. Cyl#6 misfire. Ok cool, first thought was, I bet the coil is bad. Replaced coil, nope still misfire, also put in new factory plugs as they looked beat. Still there. 20 min of YouTube and and, bad fuel injector seems to be the issue. I bought a set of factory remanned Denso injectors on eBay and ordered new throttle body and intake manifold gaskets from rock auto. Injectors came first and so I did the front 3 as I had the day off and didn’t wanna wait. Bam! Misfire gone. However, now I had a long crank for the first start. Also, if the car sat for let’s say say my 9-10hr work shift I had a long first start. Also sitting overnight same long first start. After that first start great, cause I built up fuel pressure again. My mind says I’m losing fuel pressure. Which tells me one of my “new” fuel injectors is bad/leaking.

how can you test each individual injector?

also, I received my gaskets and replaced the rear 3 injectors. All buttoned up nicely. Car runs great again but that first start and a small puff of smoke/slight fuel smell say one of the first injectors in the 2/4/6 bank is a leaker.

what say you Scotty?

thank you for taking my question. This car has been a peach. Allows me to buy lots of beer and save my $ lol.

I wouldn't buy any important parts on Ebay or Amazon.  You never know what you're really getting.  I deal locally so if anything's bad, I can take it back.

bought a set of nissan fi's in the oem box off ebay had to replace everyone of them threw my truck into a misfire scenario that took me months to realize it was the injectors

Thanks Ebay!. BUMMER!

If one of your fuel injectors is leaking when you turn off the engine the fuel pressure will decay faster than the specified time.

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to see if your "long crank" first start is being caused by either a fuel pressure problem or a leaky injector.
