all senors needs replaces according to autozone
Does AutoZone employ mechanics equipped to make that kind of determination? What exactly did they mean by "all sensors"? To literally replace every sensor in the vehicle would be a major project.
should i just clean senors?
Didn't this problem come up during the pre-purchase inspection? That thing is 26 years old. There could be any number of problems, though faulty sensors or bad wiring would not be surprising. Since the check engine light came on what code or codes were set? Were there any clues in the freeze frame data? Further diagnosis is needed to determine what's going on.
Everything Chuck said. Additionally, although the vehicle seems to be running smoothly, it may not be shifting into overdrive. A few years ago I bought a 2003 RX 300 for my grandson. The previous owner did not want to spend the money to replace the knock sensors, which involves pulling the intake manifold. The check engine light was on as well as the VSC and traction control lights. Vehicle ran fine but would not shift into overdrive because of the knock sensor code. You may have the same or similar issue. Get a pro to diagnose the issue. If you end up needing parts, you can probably use identical ones made for the equivalent Toyota version of your vehicle. That can save you a lot of cash. Good luck.
