Which Generation of Lexus LS should I Buy?

I am planning on buying a used Lexus LS AWD with some miles (25k - 80k miles) on it. The 4th generation (XF40) is V8 and the new generation (XF50) is V6 with a turbocharger. I am intending to buy it used, and keep it for as long as it lasts, should I consider the new generation with a V6 engine or the older generation with V8 from a maintenance point of view?
Thanks!

Get the V8.

I recommend the V8. Maintenance costs will be higher overall BUT longevity will be better and if you did happen to have turbo issues with the V6....$$$$$$.

Pretty sure Scotty Kilmer mentions in multiple videos that the V8 is better reliability wise. He says the V6s are easier to work on, but then that may be the older V6s without all the latest tech. Bearing in mind that he also seems to prefer petrol engines without tubochargers and all that as well.

But that's just what I've got from watching his videos. So from that, if I had to choose I'd go old school V8.

Between the current generation (5th Gen or XF50) and previous generation (4th Gen or XF40), definitely go with the previous generation with the naturally aspirated V8.  Realize as you rack up the miles on the vehicle especially past 150,000 miles the cost of repairs will get very expensive.  So I don’t recommend it if you plan to put lots of mileage on it.

If you must get one, pick one with fewer optional packages as possible (less things to break).  See below for better years to get:
