Lifespan of superchargers

I have been interested in the hellcat motors ever since they come out and have been very curious on their lifespan being supercharged as heavily as they are. I figure it won’t be long and I may be able to afford a used one with some age but I am kind of worried. I know diesels and some gas engines are turbocharged and you don’t hear too much about them but superchargers I have only seen professionals or collectors own and they are able to handle expensive replacements where as if I was to get as a toy with a budget may be paying for a paperweight if something like that was to go out or worse the engine. What is your experience with superchargers on a leisure daily driver and when to expect problems out of them? If possible could you make a video on this

Totally depends on how much the supercharger has been used.

Just bopping around as a daily, you could get 100k+ out of them. Heck, my 03 Cobras don't even require a supercharger service until 100k.

That being said, Dodge has had some issues with premature blower failures on those Hellcats. Plenty of videos on YouTube that discuss it.

I flirted with the idea of buying a Hellcat Challenger with some miles, but the ones we get in here that customers own are all regularly beaten on and abused. Nobody buys a 700+ horsepower car to be a grocery getter.

You're trading reliability for performance. It is up to you if it is worth it.

I saw one older Dodge Charger with the Hellcat engine having 85,000 miles on the odometer. It all really depends on who made the car and who took care of the car- if they took their car to the drag strip for racing.
