Scotty
I recently purchased a Ford Certified pre owned Mustang GT with manual transmission and 40k miles. I noticed a low speed vibration that occurs in the passenger side between 28mph and 32 mph. It occurs in all gears, or neutral, regardless if im applying throttle or not. If in that speed range, it vibrates. I took it to a local mechanic I trust and he said there's a bad u joint in the driveshaft and recommends a whole new driveshaft. He said take it ro ford since I'm covered under warranty.
The local Ford dealer tech said he thinks it's a transmission issue in 2nd gear. I'm out of town now but tried to tell him no, it happens in all gears or neutral. Look at the driveahaft.
How do I deal with this?
Clarification: Which model year?

If you must use a dealer (under warranty), tell them to replace the drive shaft u joints and balance the driveshaft.

So the tech is wrong right? There's no way that sounds like a transmission problem, but hey I'm no mechanic.
Woukd you recommend not letting the dealer do the work and jjst pay the trusted mechanic?
IM HAVING THE EXACT ISSUE . I ALSO THINK ITS THE DRIVE SHAFT . IT GETS VERY LOUD WITH THE CONSOLE LID OPEN . HAVE YOU RESOLVED THE PROBLEM YET ?
