Where the early 2000s Nissan automatic transmissions somewhat reliable? I'm talking about the 4-5speed automatics and not the CVTs. How long should they last?

thanks

They last as long as one maintains it.

If you’re talking about Nissans from the early 2000s (2000 until around 2004ish) they were pretty reliable back then. Any of the ones 2005 and up I’d stay away from, especially their automatics and CVTs. Their standards are generally pretty dependable, but honestly if you’re looking for a good used car you’re better off paying a bit more and getting a Toyota or Honda.

The transmissions up to the 2006 Sentra were reliable. Scotty made a video on a nissan versa (late 2000s) with the 4 speed and since it didnt have much power it could last. They can last a while but it really depends. The real wheel drive pathfinder/xterra transmissions were bulletproof. A maxima up to 2003 was alright. Same with Nissan Altima to 2001. But there is also the Maxima up to 1994, which used a Jatco 4 speed early one and we had one was total pile of junk.
