No power to Headlamp socket - Faulty BCM - Any alternatives?

2012 Focus Focus SE. 175,000 miles.

No power running to my driver's side Low-Beam/Headlamp socket.
Everything else works fine (turn signals, passenger low-beam, A/C, etc.)
Obviously Bulbs, wiring and harnesses are fine.

Mechanic confirmed the Body Control Module is faulty, and has to be completely replaced.
Looking at $1000 in parts + labour.

Totally not worth it for a car of this age & mileage, as I'm just going to drive it into the ground in the future.

I'm reluctant to get 2nd opinions, and I already dropped $200 to pay the mechanic for 3 hours of diagnostic work.

Any further insight, and/or cheap alternatives/work-arounds/hacks to get this headlamp working?

Thanks!

Have the mechanic to put a manual switch for it. You can do it yourself too.

did you check the fuses and relays?

Some vehicles have separate fuses and relays for left and right headlights.

IF IF IF it does not have separate left and right fuses and relays...Hack would be to completely disconnect the driver side bulb connector from the wiring harness and wire it directly to the passenger side. Can not do that if has separate...wiring would be too small to handle the amperage and could lead to a fire.

Alternatives...remove body control module and have someone check it for what failed...solder connection, 25 cent resistor, etc. Or send it to a company that rebuilds them. You don't have to buy "new". I've got a local "guy" that fixes Chevy instrument panels at his salvage yard and another one that repairs electronics at his stereo shop....ask around locally.
