Not really a question, more of a rant

I have a 1995 Ford E350 with a 7.3 Powerstroke.  Figured since it was 26 years old and the valve covers leak oil, I would dig in and replace the fuel pump and fuel lines; high pressure oil lines, put in new glow plugs and rebuild the injectors.  After seven days of feeling like I have been in an iron maiden I am still trying to get to the valve covers.  I have a ways to go.  Who ever the Ford engineer was that decided to make the Econoline van obviously had never given any consideration into repairing one.  What a dumb design.

Rant over.  Now back to work.

God speed my friend, you are brave.

However, you are the owner of one of the greatest diesel motors ever made.

If I had the ability to pull the cab off, or, pull the engine out I certainly would. These were not made to be worked on as is. I will get it done and once again be in love with it. Until then, I curse the engineer who designed this van. So far I had to drop the exhaust, pull the turbo (which I rebuilt in the evening on the kitchen table), and pull the fuel pump just so I could get my head in there to see what to do. Tomorrow the fuel bowl will need to come out and the air conditioner lines, along with the remaining air intake tubing. Then I'm not sure I will be able to get to the valve covers. I do know I'm going to need more Advil.

I'm not suprised. You should see what owners of new ones will experience as their vehicles age. You are lucky compared to them replacing one engine every 1000 miles.

Also lets have a laugh
