Oil inside of the spark plug area?

Hi,

i'm very new to fixing cars, but its super expensive and as a female, I feel like I'm being over charged. So, I've learned to change my spark plugs myself 92005 Lincoln town Car, automatic, about 153k miles on it) - the error code showed a misfire of the $6 plug - so I got new ones and replaced them. However, there was oil heavily covering 3 out of the 8 and light oil coving another 1 out of the remaining ones. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

That sounds to me like the valve cover gasket is leaking. That engine would be the 4.6L 2 valve Modular V8, and I had the same issue with my last one. If I where you, I would inspect around the valve covers, and see if there is any oil around the edges. If there is oil around the edges of the valve covers, then you know that the gasket is leaking. Fortunately, valve cover gaskets are easy on the Modular V8, and the gaskets shouldn't be expensive.

You could have exceeded the oil level, check your owners manual. Some are strictly 4.2L or 4.5L with a filter change MAX to not get any issues. I've seen a bike motor lockup over filled before.
