I recently had an issue with Scion XB 2006. My car two weeks ago on assignment would not shift any gear. My mechanic advised me to put 2 quarts of transmission fluid since the dipstick was dry to see if the gears move. I did that the gears moved but it stopped. I put the car in park and noticed all the 2 quarts on fluid coming from the  side of the transmission meets the engine. I have to tow the vehicle to a transmission place local in my area 6/30/2021.

Today I plugged my code reader to the computer of the vehicle. It gave me a code P0741 CODE "torque converter clutch circuit performance or stuck off"

this is my third scion xb. 

1. first one i had to give it back to bank due to divorce.

2. second one was used had it for two years no issues but it had already 260,000

3. the one with the code bought it one owner was at 42,000 now it is at 163,000. I had the transmission checked at over 100,000 at Valvoline and had it replaced.
