What do you guys think about the Chrysler Pentastar engine (3.6L V6)?
Nope
@oneimich
Why not? I heard they were fairly reliable engines, good gas mileage, decent power, etc. Is it only because its a Chrysler product?
They live up to the name of their maker.

It’s not the engine I’m worried about it’s other things under the hood, that’s why I’ll pass.
FAMOUS for oil leaks, amongst other things. Definitely pass. With what some of my customers have paid to fix that stupid motor in their Charger/Challenger, they could have had the 5.7L Hemi instead.
Had 3 of them, 2013,2015 and 2018 in Jeep awd Grand Cherokee Laredo's. Zero problems. Great gas mileage, my 2018 averaged 29.6mpg on a road trip, 5000 plus miles. Great performance both at seal level and in the mountains. The early ones had some exhaust manifolds that cracked, but they fixed that problem in 2012. If I were to buy another Jeep, that would be the engine I would want.
So I take it that the HEMI V8 is a far more reliable motor than the Pentastar? How more reliable are we talking?
Not great, not terrible. Has to be kept up.
