Assuming that the engine is internally OK it's going to come down to either ignition or fuel delivery.
In general if you spray in a little starting fluid and the engine kicks over you have ignition but no fuel. It's not clear from your description, does the engine briefly fire up and then die with starting fluid? If that's the case you have something wrong in the fuel injection. Common causes would be a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter, but there are other things that can go wrong like relays, sensors, or even the ECU.
If the engine makes no attempt to fire up with starting fluid then you have no ignition. A very common cause of that would be a bad CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor), but once again there are quite a few other things that can cause lack of ignition.
You said you replaced the spark plugs - what did the old ones look like? Clean? Wet? Carbon fouled? Oil fouled? Plugs tell a story about what's going on inside your engine. Do you have a code reader that can check for any stored fault codes?
