Hi Scotty,
My name is Wes and I need help with this issue.
Can you please answer this and also, if possible, make a video on this for general awareness.
I took my 2015 Honda Accord (automatic and key start) 70k miles to Bestbuy yesterday to get a Compustar 2 Way CSX Remote System with LTE module to get installed in my car.
The mechanic took 7 hours to install the starter and told me he was struggling with having the rear defroster hooked to the the AuX function and he couldn’t figure it out and told me that the he could make
it to work is that the rear defroster will come on every time I will start the car and turn off in 15
minutes which is not how it is supposed to be. However, here is the bigger issue. When I start the car with the starter there is a grinding noise from the car upon starting. The bestbuy
mechanic said that the starter solenoid is sticking and he didn’t do anything to cause it.
I’m sure it’s something he did that caused it. He was tying to explain me the science of T harness bypass under the steering wheel
which was way above my head to understand. I’m launching a complain with bestbuy to fix the issues. Can you please explain:
A) Basics of remote starter types and brands Viper vs factory vs Compustar. B) If mechanic could have done something that is causing a grinding/starter sticking sound upon starting. I wish I could send you a video of the issue.
thanks for your help!
I never advised to put aftermarket remote starters on cars because a customer once asked me to do that and I did it and will never do it again.so much has to be done to the cars electronic system that any flaw in either installation or often in poorly made Chinese kits can cause havoc to the vehicle's electrical system. I would never advise doing such my son has one in Boston and he hates the fact that it has an aftermarket remote system it is led to many electronic problems in the car and that's in a Toyota. Think 10 times worse in a Chrysler product
