Dear Scotty,

I drive a 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0 Vortec V8. It has 188,639 miles. The check engine light has been on the whole time I’ve owned it, and I had scanned it a while back and it showed just code P0430 and drove fine. However, lately I’m having issues with it intermittently flashing the check engine light and idling at 500 rpm and even shaking/running rough while driving around town/highway speeds. The problem just seems to come and go. I’ve scanned it recently and it came back with the codes P0307, P0171, and P0430. A while back I changed the spark plugs and plug wires, and cleaned the MAF sensor. Since it’s started running rough I’ve checked the plug wires and none of them are loose. I’m not sure how to proceed from here and hope it’s nothing too crazy. Thanks for all the car advice from your videos over the years.

Respectfully,

Dustin S

hey scotty,

I drive a 2002 chevorlet trailblazer with the vortec 4200 L6 engine. Whenever its idling, sometimes it wants to stall. I've cleaned the throttlebody, added Marvel Mystery Oil, and checked sparkplugs, but we can't seem to figure it out. Another thing it does, is it takes some time for it to turn on occasionally.
