I have a Volkswagen Jetta 2014 Se 1.8T and it use to run good but now it starts to lag it has 172,000 miles and I changed the fuel filter, gas pump, spark plugs and nothing seems to work. What could it be? The fuel injectors? Will it be hard to replace, do I need to take it to a mechanic?

Take it to a trusted mechanic and have them run a high-level scan. If there's no problems it could be clogged fuel injectors.

The mechanic should also be able to pressure test and clean the fuel injectors for you.

If you want to spend some time and a bit of money to learn a few things (pays future dividends), we can give that a go.  If so, order this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071FSNL73/?ref=exp_scottykilmer_dp_vv_d

If not and ya just want it fixed, inquire around for a good mechanic and take it to them.

Although I'm not an expert, I may be able to help you out with my knowledge. Your car has a 1.8T engine. Volkswagen engines,  particularly this one, are well-known for carbon build-up on the intake valves at around 50k miles. Carbon build-up causes the intake valves to stick which will prevent the right amount of air getting into the engine. Have you done any carbon cleaning on it yet? As for the fuel injectors, I believe they are located underneath the intake manifold. That would be a pretty big job since direct injectors require special torque down procedures and proper seating in their chambers. You could try Techron fuel injector first to see if it cleans them. You'd be surprised with how well it works! Good luck to you, and hope this helps you!
