I have a nissan primera p12 2004, and soon i have to do the 60k miles maintenance. I got it cheap from an elderly about 2 years ago. he did all the maintenance in time, and changed transmission fluid only once at 30k miles... But for 3 years or so he didn't drove it much, maybe 3-5 times a month.
My question is: Should I not change the transmission fluid because the car wasn't drove much for 3 years.
some time the car kick when I press on the gas, but I think its just the engine mounts and not the transmission itself.
by the way its a CVT transmission.
what should I do?
thanks.
Being a CVT, I would do it just to be on the safe side.
Yes, you should replace the fluid.
the same way you’d replace the transmission oil on a dual clutch or a regular conventional automatic, it’s good practice to replace it on a CVT too.
Use the recommended fluid and fill the recommended amount.
Better be safe then sorry 🙂
I’d go even further to say if you want that CVT to last do not skip any fluid change intervals your owners manual recommends.
